Kiawah Island, SC

Completion: 2005

Size: 25,000 sf

When Kiawah Development Partners wanted to create a unique shopping village at the junction of Kiawah and Seabrook Islands, they assembled numerous local architectural firms to provide a variety of design interpretations. The inspiration for all buildings was the site's agrarian history. The form and massing of SMHa's buildings are therefore sympathetic to the rural roots while the varied exterior material palette provides an interesting mix of color and textures for the pedestrian experience. This mixed use building provides ground floor retail and office space above.
