While sustainable design is not a new concept for SMHa, there are new technologies, products and tools that can help building owners meet their building needs while reducing this impact. There are varying shades of “green” that can be achieved based on the unique parameters and goals of each project. The most common measurement tool is the U.S. Green Building Council’s “LEED®” Rating System (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). 75% of SMHa’s design staff are LEED Accredited Professionals - a testimony to the firm’s commitment to doing the right thing when it comes to the Client, the building occupant, and the environment.
