Our LegacyBack to top

Picture the proverbial garage studio with mentor Sidney Stubbs, FAIA, newly retired from an influential architectural career and two protégés, Charles Muldrow, AIA LEED AP BD+C and Sam Herin, AIA. This trio banded together to start a new chapter; one that was coming on the heels of Hurricane Hugo’s destruction to our inspiring South Carolina Lowcountry. Founded on the principles of quality architecture for its place, impeccable client service and a commitment to community – Stubbs Muldrow Herin architects was born.

Sidney Stubbs, FAIA Bachelor of Architecture, Clemson University, 1959, Master of Architecture, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1961, Management of Design and Planning Firms, Harvard University, 1973Prior to this January day in 1990, Sidney, Charles and Sam had worked together at LS3P; the first firm that Sidney co-founded originating as Lucas & Stubbs. Sidney operated on the belief that the practice of Architecture is an art, science, business and social trust. This was evident in his many efforts to advance the value of architecture and the sense of place in our community.
