TEN OAKS & PINE ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

In collaboration with CGD|PBK, a single 130,000-square-foot building design to accommodate 1,200 students was adapted to each site, with both schools featuring outdoor learning courtyards, a multi-purpose room and cafeteria, media center, and art/music/flex classrooms along with grade level classrooms for Pre-K through 5th Grade. 

Design goals for the two new elementary schools include:

• Academic success

• A welcoming environment to a diverse community

• Balancing safety concerns with a supportive and inspiring learning environment

• Multi-functionality of spaces: flexibility and the use of all spaces for instruction

• Community access for school programs

• Learner-centered environment

• Student-friendly exterior

• Inviting and engaging building design
