BEES LANDING RECREATION CENTER

Completed in 2010, SMHa was the Architectural Consultant for ADC Engineering on the City of Charleston’s new 19,000-square-foot Bees Landing Recreation Center. While ADC was responsible for master planning the 25-acre site in West Ashley’s Grand Oaks subdivision, SMHa took the lead on the design of the building, including a gymnasium equipped for both basketball and volleyball. The design provides a flexible plan to allow for the possibility of future expansion and additional programming. Sustainable and durable materials were selected and detailed with a contemporary hand to provide the City of Charleston with a state-of-the-art recreation facility designed to last.
